Team Greenbelt Alliance completes another Climate Ride

Team Greenbelt Alliance has successfully completed Climate Ride California 2014!

From May 17 to May 20, Team Greenbelt Alliance took to our bikes to “pedal for the planet,” riding 250 miles from San Francisco to Sacramento. Together with 140 other riders, we cycled to raise money for bicycle advocacy and sustainable development. Riders included executive directors, nonprofit board members, elected officials, and more, all riding in support of great organizations fighting climate change.

In our third year of participating, we fielded a team of 6 and raised $24,000, a tremendous collective effort. Along the way, we enjoyed the gorgeous landscapes of the North Bay—from the rangeland of west Marin to the sweeping vineyards of Napa—all while learning about great causes with our pedaling peers.

Our efforts culminated in a rally at the State Capitol in Sacramento, where we demonstrated our support for alternative transportation and sustainability in California.

This year’s team members were:

  • Greenbelt Alliance Board Member Elliot Evers
  • Team Captain and Greenbelt Alliance staff member Amie Fleming
  • Greenbelt Alliance staff member Joel Devalcourt
  • David Marsland
  • Nancy Fleming (Amie’s badass mom)
  • Nicholas Evers

Thank you to all our team members and supporters! If you’re feeling inspired by our sweat and toil, you can still support our fundraising efforts here.
