And by “giants,” we mean redwood trees, not the baseball players from further north (although, they’re cool too). Enjoy a great outing in a primeval forest—we’ll hike the Big Tree and Heritage Grove trails beneath the shade of old growth redwoods.

Along the way, historian and your outing leader Gael Erickson will explain how this precious natural landscape was preserved by Sam McDonald, a descendent of slaves.

We’ll assemble at the parking area by the ranger station in San McDonald County Park.

Leaders Note:
