bicycling through the city

bicycling through the city

Roll along bike paths and through charming neighborhoods to check out the latest developments in Hercules and Richmond. Join representatives from Greenbelt Alliance and East Bay Bicycle Coalition on a bike ride through North West Contra Costa County. We’ll get some exercise, discuss the most recent advocacy work on behalf of bikes and public transit in the county, and enjoy a rest stop in Point Pinole Regional Park.

RSVP online

Date:  Saturday, July 21

Time: 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Rating:  E/M  25  A

Co-leaders: Evan Lovett-Harris and Sara Barz of Greenbelt Alliance and Dave Campbell of the East Bay Bicycle Coalition.

What to bring:  Helmets, a spare tube, water and a working bicycle are required. Snacks are strongly suggested. Please inflate your bicycle tires before meeting at BART.

Keep in mind: Please take a look at the Route Map ahead of time. We will provide cue sheets the morning of the ride. Please note that there are a couple of hills that total ~500′ of elevation gain. You can see the elevation profile on the route map. Also, please be advised that while we attempted to route the ride in as bicycle-friendly a manner as possible, we will still be on a few heavily trafficked roads. If you are very uncomfortable riding with cars, you may want to try a different outing.

How to get there: We will meet at the Richmond BART Station
