A Hike on Shaky Ground
Join us for a moving hike in the Santa Cruz Mountains near the San Andreas Fault. We’ll “strike slip” our way through grasslands, woodlands, a riparian corridor, and an old orchard before visiting the Los Trancos earthquake trail.
We don’t discriminate – this outing is open to both residents of the Pacific and the North American tectonic plates.

We’ll assemble at the main entrance to Monte Bello Open Space Preserve on Page Mill Road, 7 miles west of Highway 280 and 1.5 miles east of Skyline Boulevard.
Bring water, lunch, dress in layers, and wear good hiking shoes. Bring poles if you normally use them. If you have questions about this outing, email Ken Lavin or call him at (415) 543-6771 ext 321.
