Join us on an urban trek through some of Mill Valley’s most venerable neighborhoods. Outings leader extraordinaire, Nancy Valente, will guide us along the shaded redwoods to view some historic houses, learn some local history, and visit the charming Three Wells and Cascade Falls.

How to get there:

We will meet at 10:00 AM at Old Mill School, across the street from Old Mill Park, 300 Throckmorton Avenue, Mill Valley.

Traveling south on Hwy 101 in Marin:

Take the E.Blithedale/Tiburon/Hwy 131 exit. At the stop lights turn right onto E. Blithedale. Continue on E.Blithedale for about 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Throckmorton and bear left at the first stop sign to continue on Throckmorton. proceed through downtown Mill Valley (large redwood trees will be on your left) and go straight at the next intersection (no stop signs). You will still be on Throckmorton – Old Mill  Park is about one-half mile on your left. Usually there is ample parking along Throckmorton. We’ll meet across the street, in front of Old Mill School.

Traveling north on 101 in Marin:

Take the Hwy One/Stinson Beach/Muir Woods/Mill Valley exit (Shoreline Hwy). Follow Shoreline Hwy past two stop lights to the stop light where Hwy One turns left (signage is well before the intersection on the right). Bear right at this intersection (oriental rug store is a good marker) and continue on what is now Almonte Blvd. Almonte becomes Miller Avenue where it widens into two lanes in each direction. Continue on Miller Avenue for about 1.8 miles to downtown Mill Valley. At the stop sign in downtown Mill Valley at the intersection of Miller Avenue with Sunnyside (Henry’s Toys  on your right/redwood trees on your left). Proceed straight ahead though what appears to be a parking lot. At the end of the parking lot turn left – you will be on Throckmorton. Proceed straight up Throckmorton to Old Mill Park on your left. We’ll meet across the street, in front of Old Mill School.
