We need your support for a vibrant El Camino Real

Updated on 5/13/14

The Mountain View City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 20 will be the public’s last chance to give feedback on the direction of the El Camino Real Precise Plan before the draft plan is released over the summer.

This plan will be the City’s long-term blueprint for growth and development along the four-mile stretch of El Camino Real that runs through city limits. Done right, it can enhance the quality of life for everyone who lives, works, or plays in Mountain View.

We need your presence and supportive comments at the meeting to ensure that this plan makes El Camino Real a more vibrant corridor. So join us for happy hour to meet fellow advocates and to learn more. We will walk over to the city council meeting afterwards.

Happy Hour Details

Date: Tuesday, May 20, 2014
Time: 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Place: Bierhaus, 383 Castro St.

RSVP

Together with our local partners, the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition and Peninsula Interfaith Action, and a growing number of community members, we believe the El Camino Real Precise Plan should:

  • Integrate new businesses and at least 1,500 new homes along El Camino Real
  • Ensure that homes are available for a full range of needs and to a full range of incomes
  • Provide protected bike lanes and a safer environment for all modes of transportation
  • Be created through a community-driven, transparent, and inclusive process

If the final plan meets these criteria, the El Camino Real corridor will thrive with a strong and diverse local customer base, safer streets for cyclists and pedestrians, and revitalized sidewalks and vacant lots. Read our policy platform in full here [PDF].

Come out to happy hour and the city council meeting on May 20 and show your support for a vibrant El Camino Real in Mountain View! RSVP above to let us know you’re coming.
