What’s next for El Camino in Mountain View?

The City of Mountain View has released the draft El Camino Real Precise Plan and associated environmental impact report for public comment. The City Council currently intends to discuss and hear comments on the draft plan at the September 23 council meeting and to approve a final plan before Thanksgiving, so it’s important to get involved now.

This plan will be the City’s long-term blueprint for growth and development along the four-mile stretch of El Camino Real that runs through the city limits. Done right, it can enhance the quality of life for everyone who lives, works, or plays in Mountain View. Please note the following important dates:

Tuesday, September 2 | Housing & Transportation Candidates Forum

This event is co-sponsored by Greenbelt Alliance. If you are interested in attending the forum, contact Uri Pachter at upachter@greenbelt.org.

Greenbelt Alliance and our partners—the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, Peninsula Interfaith Action, and the Mountain View Coalition for Sustainable Planning—believe that this plan should create much-needed homes affordable at a broad range of income levels, provide a safer environment biking and other modes of transportation, and help businesses along the El Camino Real corridor thrive. Read our policy platform [PDF].
