For the first time, the 2011 Bluegrass for the Greenbelt festival will feature camping in the beautiful Oakland hills on Friday, June 3 to Saturday, June 4.

The campsite is adjacent the festival venue, on the grounds of the Dunsmuir-Hellman Historic estate, located on a beautiful 50-acre park overlooking San Francisco Bay.

A Friday-evening program will be hosted by festival emcee Chuck Poling and Nell Robinson & Jim Nunally. For brave souls, there will also be an open mic.

RESERVATIONS

  • Visit Slims SF to reserve a campsite
  • Price $50/person, which includes camping, parking, and festival admission

LOCATION

  • The campsite is adjacent to the festival venue on the grounds of the Dunsmuir-Hellman Historic estate
  • Check-in and check-out is at Covington Gate (Directions/Map)

TIME

  • Beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 3, the Covington Gate will open for campers
  • Gates will close for the evening at 11 p.m. on June 3
  • Campsite must be cleared and all items removed by 8 p.m. on Sat., June 4

SECURITY
The campsite will be secured, but we assume no liability for personal property

PARKING
Free overnight parking for campers is available adjacent to the Covington Gate. No cars or other vehicles may be brought onto the estate grounds.

FACILITIES
There are no permanent bathrooms facilities at the campsite. There will be portable bathrooms, hand washing stations, and potable water.

FOOD SERVICE
Due to fire regulations, cooking and fires of any kind are prohibited. Limited catering service will be available on site for Friday evening dinner and Saturday morning breakfast. Menu TBA .

RECYCLING
Bluegrass for the Greenbelt is committed to having a low impact festival. Please be sure to utilize our recycling and compost containers available.

GENERAL CAMPING RULES

  • Food and coolers may be brought in
  • Please keep all access roads clear to traffic at all times
  • No smoking allowed on the estate grounds
  • Tent camping only
  • No RVs, trailers, cars, ATVs, or other vehicles allowed on the estate grounds
  • Due to fire danger, no fires or cooking of any kind allowed
  • No generators allowed
  • No dogs or pets of any kind other than authorized service animals
  • No solicitation or sales activities without written permission
  • Golf cart use is restricted to staff only
  • Bluegrass for the Greenbelt reserves the right to refuse service

  • Water bottle
  • Sunblock
  • Hat
  • Bike, to ride around the area
  • Wagon/cart, to bring items from your car to your site
  • Musical instruments (camping area only)
  • Tent
  • Warm Sleeping Bag/sleeping pad
  • Flashlight/Camp Lantern (battery operated)
