Rating: This is a moderate 4-mile round trip hike with less than 1,000 feet of elevation gain.

Notes: Come experience one of the oldest parks in the Bay Area. Located in the foothills of the Diablo Range, Alum Rock Park is a must-see for its sweeping views and beautiful rock formations. On our hike we’ll explore a diversity of plant life as well as unique remnants of the park’s long history.
Rain Policy: Hike is cancelled in the event of rain.
What to bring: Snacks, liquids, and sturdy hiking shoes. Dress in layers.
How to get there:
Take 680 to the Berryessa Road exit and head East. Turn right onto
North Capitol Avenue and then left onto Penitencia Creek
Road. Take Penitencia Creek Road to the main entrance of Alum Rock Park. Enter
the park and follow the park road to the last parking lot (you will pass a
few parking areas). The Visitor Center is located next to the grass area (you
will have to walk over a small stone bridge above the creek).
