Notes: Time to shake off the winter cobwebs and search out some harbingers of spring on this family friendly wildflower walk down the Coastal Trail.
Rain Policy: Rain cancels.
What to bring: Good walking shoes, snacks, liquids. Dress in layers.
How to get there: We will meet at 10 AM at the Marin Headlands Visitor Center. From San Francisco and San Mateo County: Take Hwy 101 northbound across the Golden Gate Bridge. Exit at Alexander Avenue; bear right. Follow Alexander Avenue 0.2-miles; turn left onto Bunker Road. On Bunker Road, pass through the one way Baker-Barry Tunnel. Follow Bunker Road for about 2 miles; bear left on Field Road. The Visitor Center, an old military Chapel will be on your right.
From the North Bay and East Bay: Cross the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. Take Hwy 101 southbound. Exit at the second Sausalito exit, just before the Golden Gate Bridge (this would be after you’ve passed through the Waldo Tunnel). Bear right onto Alexander Avenue; proceed back under the freeway. Follow Alexander Avenue 0.2-miles; turn left onto Bunker Road. On Bunker Road, pass through one way Baker-Barry Tunnel. Follow Bunker Road about 2 miles; bear left on Field Road. The Visitor Center, an old military Chapel, will be on your right.
