Butano Redwood Hike

Rating: This is a strenuous 12-mile hike with around 2,000 feet of elevation gain.

Group: Open to all. Reservations are not required. Co-sponsored with the Sierra Club.

Notes: Take a challenging hike through first and second-growth redwood forests in one of the coast’s less visited parks. We’ll be rewarded with spectacular mountain and coastal views.

Rain Policy: Any rain cancels

What to bring: Bring lunch, liquids, dress in layers, and wear sturdy boots with good traction.

How to get there:
Driving:
From Half Moon Bay, go south on Highway 1 to Pescadero Road. Turn left on Pescadero Road through the town of Pescadero; then go right on Cloverdale Road south about five miles to the park entrance. Meet by the park entry kiosk.
Carpooling: Leader Bob Solotar will meet carpools at the Rockridge BART at the base of the escalators at 8:50 am.
