Rating: This is a moderate 4-mile hike with less than 1,000 feet in elevation gain. There is one steep hill to climb.
Group: Open to all. Reservations required.
Fees: $5 parking fee.

Notes: Join us for a nature walk through Coyote Hills Regional Park. We'll view the site of an Ohlone Indian village, traverse a bridge through a marsh, and finally climb a hill to view the landscape of the Bay Area. From our lofty perch, we'll talk about the geologic history of San Francisco Bay and the ancient rock beneath our feet.

What to bring: Lunch, liquids, and sturdy shoes. Dress in layers.
How to get there:
Coyote Hills is at the west
end of Patterson Ranch Road/Commerce Drive in Fremont. From I-880, take Highway
84 west, exit at Paseo Padre Parkway, turn right, and drive north about one
mile. Turn left on Patterson Ranch Road. This is the park's entrance road and
will take you to the picnic areas and visitor center. Parking fees may apply.
