Rating: This is a moderate hike of 5 to 6 miles with about 1,000 feet in elevation gain.

Notes: We'll see a very wide range of wildflowers and other native plants in four distinct natural habitats. We'll also enjoy fine views from the ridges in this unspoiled and very uncrowded part of the East Bay.

What to bring: Layered clothing, lunch, water, and good hiking shoes

How to get there: We will meet at 10am at the end of Bollinger Canyon Road. From Highway 680, take Crow Canyon Road in San Ramon heading east. After a little over one mile, at the signal where the road starts to narrow down, turn right on Bollinger Canyon Road. Follow Bollinger Canyon Road through a rural area past the Little Hills Recreation Area. Pass the Las Trampas entry sign to the end of the paved road turning to the left to the parking area.
