Greenbelt Alliance is seeking a qualified and motivated individual with a background in environmental causes, fundraising and development for a rewarding intern opportunity as a Workplace Giving intern.

About Greenbelt Alliance
Greenbelt Alliance is the Bay Area's leading land conservation and urban planning nonprofit. Our mission is to make the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area a better place to live by protecting the region's greenbelt and improving the livability of its cities and towns. Since 1958, we have been active across the nine-county region protecting open space, opposing sprawl, and promoting smart growth. We have helped save over 1.1 million acres of greenbelt and we're a leader in promoting regional solutions to the problems of sprawl.

Responsibilities The Workplace Giving intern will represent Greenbelt Alliance and Earth Share of CA at tabling and presentation events as part of the 2010 workplace giving campaign sponsored by the Combined Federal Campaign and the California State Employees Charitable Campaign. Duties mainly include tabling at campaign events and giving brief presentations on the benefits of giving to the Earth Share federation and Greenbelt Alliance. The Workplace Giving intern will also assist in renewing all application materials with Earth Share, the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), and the California State Employee’s Charitable Campaign (CSECC).

Commitment
Part time and irregular. The intern position should begin mid September to coincide with the 2010 Campaign Kick-Off. Ability to attend campaign events on short notice is required. A total of 30 hours, between mid September and late January is expected. Also, December and January will be devoted to administrative work within our SF office. This position is unpaid.

Talents/Skills Desired Intern qualifications and background sought: 1) Reliable and available to travel around the Bay Area on short notice; 2) Enjoys public speaking; 3) Interest in and commitment to the mission of Greenbelt Alliance and ESCA; 4) Experience in fund raising, marketing/sales/public speaking is preferred.
