Accessory Use

« Back to Land-Use Planning Dictionary

An accessory use is an activity or structure that is incidental to and subordinate to the main use of the site. For example, a garage is allowed as an accessory use to residential sites, because it is incidental (reasonably related to) and subordinate (smaller than) the main use of the site, the residential building.
