Alexandra Fraser is a wetlands and plant community ecologist with more than 15 years of experience leading nature outings for the public. Since 2006 she has been leading Greenbelt Outings that focus on the wildflowers, plant communities, and natural history of our glorious Bay Area open spaces.
A professional geologist at Chevron Energy Technology, Karen has taught outdoor education programs for children on Mount Diablo for several years in addition to leading interpretive outings for adults. Ken has introduced countless children and adults to the delights of the nature and the greenbelt as an outdoor education teacher, park ranger, and hike leader. He is an entertaining storyteller and expert speaker on the natural world, including Bay Area geology, flora, and fauna.
Janet Byron has been leading outings for Greenbelt Alliance since 1993, and served on the board for five years. She is an amateur birdernd enjoys running and hiking on East Bay trails. During the week,she is managing editor of the University of California’s California Agriculture journal.

Nancy Valente is a faunal analyst with a master’s degree in archeology. She is a recognized expert in the identification of animal skeletal remains and is often asked to identify bones unearthed at sensitive sites during construction projects.
Bob Johnson is a Greenbelt and urban outings leader and works with Urban Advantage to produce photo-realistic visualizations of better urban designThe attempt to give form, in terms of both beauty and function, to selected urban areas or to whole cities. Anita Lalwani is a former Greenbelt Alliance staff member. These days. Anita wears several hats- yoga instructor, professional dancer, and licensed personal trainer. Anita leads Greenbelt Alliance outings that combine Yoga in beautiful natural settings.
The Ongs are knowledgeable birders and patient teachers. Their hikes attract beginners through advanced birdwatchers. They are able to track changes in bird populations and spotlight the importance of preserving the natural areas Greenbelt Alliance works to protect.

Tania Malik is a writer and rambler who enjoys exploring the trails of Marin County with her dog. She was educated in boarding schools in the foothills of the Himalayas, and raised in India, Africa and the Middle East. She has worked for non-profits, and in the travel marketing field, writing and creating brochures for holidays to exotic destinations. After years of nomadic wanderings, the Bay Area has been her home for the last ten years.
