The Northern California Section of the American Planning Association has selected Greenbelt Alliance's report, Smart Infill: Creating More Livable Communities in the Bay Area, for its 2003 Education Project Award.

Go Greenbelt! 2003 was marked by rain, rain, a little wind, and yet more rain. Despite the weather, the riders were determined and in good spirits.

Greenbelt Alliance Origins: Growing while Protecting Open Space
2003 marks the forty-fifth anniversary of Greenbelt Alliance's work to protect open space and promote livable communities. In the 1970s, our predecessor People for Open Space bolstered its organizational structure to provide regional focus to greenbelt protection.
