When: 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010 Where: Meet at Public Plaza, South San Francisco BART Station Why: El Camino is among seven smart spots around the Bay Area where new homes and jobs are a natural fit. In fact, this vital corridor can comfortably accommodate 14% of the region’s growth. Our tour will profile affordable homes near transit, opportunities for better pedestrian connections, and thriving downtown areas. Connecting 19 cities and towns, El Camino can become a “Grand Boulevard” of homes, jobs, shops, and parks, linked by a thriving transit network. Who: Greenbelt Alliance with the Grand Boulevard Initiative, Sierra Club, SamTrans, and the Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo County.
