Kiyomi Yamamoto

Regional Representative

As a fourth generation descendant of San Jose ranchers and sharecroppers, Kiyomi is committed to protecting the South Bay’s rich legacy of agriculture and open space.

Prior to joining the Greenbelt Alliance, Kiyomi dedicated more than 10 years to public service in the government and nonprofit sectors.  She held positions at SPUR, the San Jose Redevelopment Agency, and a government consulting firm in Washington, D.C.  She has also served as a congressional intern and on the Board of Directors at the Japanese American Museum of San Jose.

Kiyomi is a member of the California State Bar, and earned her J.D. from Santa Clara Law.  She holds a B.S. from UC Davis in Community and Regional Development, and a certificate in Transportation Management from the Mineta Transportation Institute.

Kiyomi, a California native, spent her childhood years in Modesto and Riverside.  She now lives in North San Jose with her husband, and enjoys hiking, camping, and visiting museums.
