Compact Development Team

About the Team

Our compact development team endorses those projects that offer attractive, high density housing. Are you concerned about the lack of affordable housing in the Bay Area? Encourage smart growth around the Bay Area by joining the Compact Development Team. Volunteers for the Compact Development Team analyze and discuss proposed projects. According to project developers, the team's endorsements have made a critical difference in winning approval for many of the great projects Greenbelt Alliance has endorsed.

The team meets monthly and researches and endorses environmentally friendly development projects, assists in keeping our project database up-to-date, conducts urban policy research, and helps build political support for compact infill development through letters, public testimony and other education efforts.

Compact Development Team Volunteer Requirements

  • Knowledge of urban planning, housing, architecture, or public-transit or a desire to learn.
