Alliance is working on the ground to protect the Bay Area's greenbelt
from inefficient sprawl developments. Our field offices in the East Bay,
Solano-Napa, Sonoma-Marin, and the South Bay campaign against developments
that threaten Bay Area open spaces.

Greenbelt Alliance protects the greenbelt by:
- Sharing the greenbelt with the residents of the Bay Area through our
Greenbelt Outings
program.
- Campaigning to save open space from wasteful sprawl development in
the Bay Area counties using general plans and easements to protect open
space for years to come.
- Working with Bay Area municipalities to establish urban growth boundaries
to protect open space from sprawl growth.
- Drawing public attention to the value of open space as well as the
threats to it with high profile events such as the Go
Greenbelt bicycle tour and events showcasing the Bay
Area's locally produced food and wine.
