East Bay: Carquinez Shoreline to Port Costa

Sunday, September 8, 2019
9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Free; RSVP required.
Carquinez Strait Regional Shoreline
Port Costa, Contra Costa County

Join us on a late summer outing that’s off the beaten path. We’ll hike through beautiful Carquinez Regional Shoreline, then follow a path down to the hidden hamlet of Port Costa.

The quaint Port Costa of today hides a turbulent history—a stop on the transcontinental railroad, a major shipping port, and host to what locals claim was a “five star” bordello. Small wonder a historic marker near the downtown Burlington Hotel (1883) reads Credo Quia Absurdum.

  1. Hello,
I would like to participate in this walk but do not own a vehicle and I live in San Francisco. Will there be any car pools? Thank you.

    • Hi,

I live in Walnut Creek and can pick you up and drop you off st the Pleasant Hill BART station.

      Would that work?
