SORRY – THIS OUTING IS CANCELED BECAUSE OF THE SHELTER IN PLACE ORDER

Sunol Regional Wilderness is home to a host of spring wildflowers and a plethora of native plants.

Sunol is one of the gems of the East Bay, with a feeling of being remote from urban areas despite being just a stone’s throw away from bustling cities. Join Greenbelt Alliance Board member Bob Johnson to experience this fantastic floral display and enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding hills and valleys.

Like most of you, we are closely monitoring COVID-19 news and information, and we’re following guidelines from the World Health Organization, CDC, and local government to stay healthy.

Based on that guidance, our small group outdoor hikes will continue this week. However, we ask that participants and leaders follow recommended public health guidelines and social distancing protocols to stay safe. View our protocols here.

Total Distance:
This is a moderate hike of around 4 miles with some steep sections and a 1,000 foot elevation change.
Weather Policy:

Steady rain cancels.

Where to Meet:

We’ll meet in front of the old Green Barn Visitor Center. Immediately after the entry kiosk, turn left into the parking lot near the old Green Barn. If that parking lot is full there is another one a little farther along the road on the right and you can easily walk back. There are restrooms nearby.

Leaders Note:

Bring lunch and liquids. Dress in layers and wear good hiking shoes. Bring hiking poles if you normally use them. If you have questions about this outing, email klavin@greenbelt.org or phone 415-543-6771 x321.
