Easter Morning Wildflower Walk on Mount Diablo
Had your fill of Easter eggs? Then come join us for a spring wildflower hunt on Mount Diablo.
Mitchell Canyon is a Bay Area floral hot spot, and we are sure to find some rare and not-so-rare spring bloomers as we hike. We’ll share stories of early botanical pioneers, explain how the flowers come to be named, and describe Native American uses of local flowering plants. Don’t be surprised if we spot some native (Easter) bunnies along the trail.

We will assemble at the Mitchell Canyon Visitor Center. Restrooms and water are available at the trailhead.
Bring snacks, water, dress in layers, and wear good hiking shoes. Bring hiking poles if you normally use them. If you have questions about this outing, email Ken Lavin or call him at (415) 543-6771 x321.
