Nature Hike in the East Bay Hills
A cool summer hike for rock hounds, tree huggers, and everyone in between.
We’ll begin our day walking on the basaltic rock of Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve, then hike along the Skyline Trail to Huckleberry Botanic Regional Preserve to view some rare native plants that thrive in the park’s unusual soil.

We’ll assemble near the exhibits by the parking lot at the main staging area off Skyline Drive.
There is a water fountain and a restroom near our meeting spot.
Bring water, snacks, and lunch. Wear good hiking shoes and dress in layers. Bring poles if you normally use them. There are a few steep and rocky portions on the trails we will be traversing. If you have questions about this outing, phone Ken Lavin at (415) 543-6771 (ext 321) or email him.
