Subterranean Adventure at Black Diamond Mines
There’s gold in them thar hills! (Or at least coal and sand.) Join us for a guided tour of the underground workings of what was once the most important coal field in California.
The park is adjacent to the Sand Creek area of Antioch, where Greenbelt Alliance is working to preserve a precious natural landscape from unwise development.

Outing will proceed, rain or shine.
We’ll assemble at the parking area at the end of Somersville Road. There are restrooms and water nearby.
Wear good hiking shoes and dress in layers. It will be hot outside and cool underground. If you have questions about this outing, email Ken Lavin or phone (415) 543-6771 (ext 321).
