Ali reinforces Greenbelt Alliance’s efforts to protect open space and encourage smart growth in Santa Clara County.
In collaboration with Greenbelt Alliance’s Program Director and Deputy Director, Ali’s primary focus is to support efforts that shape public policies affecting important landscapes in Santa Clara County, particularly the protection of Coyote Valley—a majestic landscape providing groundwater replenishment, flood control, wildlife habitat, farmland, and recreation at the edge of San Jose.
Originally from New Jersey, Ali moved to the Bay Area to complete her Master’s degree in Urban & Regional Planning, with a specialization in Community Design & Development, from San Jose State University. As part of her Master’s Planning Report, she researched the relationship between natural working lands, communities, and local economies. Ali has a background in park planning and her love for nature leads her to explore the great outdoors of the Bay Area on weekend hikes with her husband.
