Nadia Benafghoul

Advancement Assistant

Nadia’s deep-rooted admiration for the Bay Area’s natural beauty and diversity leads to her passion in enhancing its communities to make them more inclusive, sustainable, and healthy.

As Advancement Assistant, Nadia helps to manage Greenbelt Alliance’s fundraising programs, connecting funders and donors to the organization’s mission of promoting development that will yield social and economic equity, while protecting the region’s natural and agricultural landscapes.

Prior to joining Greenbelt Alliance, Nadia attended UC Davis and earned her B.S. in Community & Regional Development with an emphasis in both Policy & Planning and Organization & Management. Nadia began her career in fundraising during her time there, working with the College Relations and Development team under the Dean’s Office. While attending college, she further gained fundraising experience and non-profit advocacy skills while interning with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition.

Originally from Tracy and then Sacramento, Nadia is enthusiastic to now be in a region that she has admired and visited for as long as she can remember. She enjoys exploring the diverse array of food, live music shows, and parks that the region has to offer.
