One of the seven state-mandated elements of a local general plan that contains adopted goals, policies and implementation programs to protect the community from any unreasonable risks associated with: seismic and geologic hazards, flooding, wildfires and urban fires. Many safety elements also incorporate a review of police needs, objectives, facilities and services.
