Berkeley Votes YES on Measure O to Support Homes People Can Afford

Update: We’re thrilled that Measure O was approved by voters in November 2018!

Unanimously approved by the Berkeley City Council, Measure O authorizes the City of Berkeley to create a $135 million bond for the development and preservation of affordable homes for low and moderate-income households.

Passed by a ⅔ majority of voters, Measure O will create funds dedicated to building badly needed homes for those struggling to find housing, including teachers, firefighters, seniors, veterans, and homeless individuals. The funds will also be made available for the preservation of existing homes reserved for low-income residents, ensuring that the city doesn’t lose ground in the race to create more affordable communities.
