Rachel Harris

Meet Rachel

As North Bay Resilience Associate, Rachel supports research and community outreach for multiple projects, including those focused on extreme heat, wildfire, and county-level land use.

Rachel (she/her) is passionate about engaging with her community to promote climate resilience and sustainable development. Before her current role, Rachel worked with Greenbelt Alliance as a Wildfire Resilience Fellow, as well as in the offices of Representative Mike Thompson and State Senator Mike McGuire.
 
Rachel graduated from American University with a B.A. in Political Science and minors in Environmental Science and Spanish. Her role at Greenbelt Alliance allows her to blend her interest in government and policy with her passion for environmental stewardship. 
 
A Sonoma County native, Rachel is excited to work with the community she calls home. Off the clock, Rachel enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and exploring the Bay Area’s extensive natural beauty.
