Election 2016 Win: Bay Area Says YES to Measure AA

UPDATE: Measure AA passed in the June 2016 primaries!

Measure AA is a $12 annual parcel tax that will invest $500 million over the next 20 years for Bay restoration projects. This tax measure is the first of its kind in California. It pulls together voters from the entire nine-county region in support of restoring wetlands around the iconic San Francisco Bay. Greenbelt Alliance urges everyone in the Bay Area to vote YES on Measure AA.

We need your help to pass this monumental measure which will fund projects to:

  • Filter out pollution for cleaner water
  • Increase habitat for wildlife
  • Keep low-lying communities safe from flooding, storm surges, and sea level rise
  • Expand trails and shoreline access

Over 30,000 acres of shoreline will be eligible for projects funded by Measure AA.

Because it is a $12 per year tax measure, Measure AA will require a two-thirds supermajority vote for approval. Led by our friends at Save the Bay, hundreds of leaders around the Bay Area are teaming up to support this crucial funding to save our wetlands, which have been steadily destroyed over the past century. Greenbelt Alliance is proud to recommend that our supporters say YES to Measure AA for the Bay.
