Greenbelt Alliance Endorsed: Bradford Senior Housing Project Approved in Redwood City

Greenbelt Alliance is excited that Redwood City enthusiastically approved the Bradford Senior Housing project by MidPen Housing.

After more than a decade of work to transform a vacant downtown lot into senior affordable homes, this project will bring to fruition Redwood City’s long-held vision for a 100% affordable community in the award-winning downtown area.

Greenbelt Alliance is thrilled that these 117 new homes will provide more than 30% of the city’s affordable units planned for this neighborhood.

Bradford Senior Housing is in a very walkable and transit-friendly location. It is within half a mile of the Redwood City Sequoia Transit Center and Caltrain stop. The project will also provide a community amenity in the form of a publicly accessible multi-use path adjacent to Redwood Creek. This trail will open new opportunities for residents to enjoy a historically important, tidal-influenced waterway that connects to San Francisco Bay.

As a great example of smart infill development, this project supports the local economy, relieves development pressure on the region’s open spaces, and offers a host of other environmental and quality of life benefits.

Greenbelt Alliance is proud to endorse this project. Learn more about our Endorsement Program here.
