Ken Lavin

Meet Ken

Ken Lavin has introduced countless children and adults to the delights of nature and the greenbelt as an outdoor education teacher, park ranger, hike leader, and Outings Coordinator at Greenbelt Alliance.

Ken (He/Him) is also a naturalist for Diablo Nature Adventures in Mount Diablo State Park. Diablo Nature Adventures provides outdoor environmental education for thousands of school children each year. Ken also worked as a National Park Ranger at Muir Woods and the Marin Headlands (where he was referred to as the “cool ranger” by school children). He served as president of the Mount Diablo Interpretive Association. He is also outreach and public program chair for the Mount Diablo Group of the Sierra Club.

Ken has been featured by several Bay Area media outlets for his hiking experience and is the featured hike leader in the Sierra Club’s nationally distributed “How to Lead a Hike” video.
