Sarah enjoys bringing together governments, businesses and communities to forge solutions to a changing climate that also improve people’s quality of life, economic prosperity, connection to nature, and resiliency.
In her role at Greenbelt Alliance leading climate policy and advocacy initiatives, Sarah draws from her prior experiences planning and implementing mitigation and adaptation solutions at international, regional, and local levels.
Previously, Sarah managed regional environmental planning efforts in stormwater management, climate resilience, and natural asset management for the Metropolitan Planning Council based in Chicago. She fostered innovative solutions, regional collaboration, and equitable local community engagement, approaches she is passionate to apply in advancing climate-smart development and resiliency across the Bay Area.
A native of Chicago, Sarah has also worked in Washington, D.C. for The World Bank in climate-resilient, low-emissions development capacity building and technical assistance for Latin America and the Caribbean region.
Sarah holds a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish from Colgate University and a M.P.P. concentrating on environmental policy from The University of Maryland School of Public Policy. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and enjoys hiking Bay Area trails, traveling, practicing yoga, and experimenting with new vegetarian recipes.
