Urban Parks: The community’s backyard

Urban parks, trails, and plazas are essential elements of cities as more people choose to live in compact, walkable neighborhoods—they are the community’s backyard. The question for San Jose: where will the parks go, and how can we fund them?

First urban villages approved for San Jose

Ever since San Jose’s leaders adopted the Envision San Jose 2040 General Plan, the talk has been about how to implement it. The primary way the City plans to accommodate growth over the next 30 years is by directing it into 70 urban villages throughout San Jose.
