Volunteer Spotlight: Cristin Kenyon

South Bay outings leader Cristin Kenyon is Greenbelt Alliance’s Volunteer of the Month for August.
A Bay Area native, Cristin grew up hiking in the open space around her home in Sunnyvale. Cristin is a superb teacher and naturalist. While an undergraduate at University of California San Diego, she volunteered for the nonprofit Aquatic Adventures, leading nature hikes and science activities for low-income schools. She later spent two years teaching seventh grade science in the Bronx through Teach for America. Cristin is interning for the Coastal Commission this summer and will return to UCLA in the fall to continue working on a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning.

Cristin’s Greenbelt Alliance outings are always fun and informative as she describes the wildlife, plant life, human history, and current preservation campaigns in the South Bay greenbelt.  Join Cristin this fall for her next Greenbelt Alliance outing, Roving the Rancho, in Rancho San Antonio Regional Park.

Thank you Cristin for all your hard work!
