Anne was raised in the Midwest but has spent her adult life in San Francisco. While her working career was in Human Resources, her avocations have been building community, improving the environment, and advancing opportunities for women and minorities.
Anne brings decades of open space and urban planning experience to the Greenbelt Alliance Board. She sat on the board of People for Open Space in the late 60’s, chaired San Francisco’s Open Space Advisory Committee in the mid 70’s, and twice chaired the board of SPUR.
Anne has spent the last 15 years as the Vice Chair of the Bay Conservation and Development Commission, and the last 12 as Commissioner of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. She has also served as commissioner of the SF Port Commission and the SF Redevelopment Commission, and was active on the boards of many other nonprofits that address urban issues.
Anne, her husband Wells, and their two dogs split their time between Telegraph Hill and Glen Ellen.
