Her Rural Majesty: Julie’s Story

Julie and her husband fell in love with Sonoma County, so they found a place to call home in Asti. When neighboring Cloverdale was looking to sprawl out beyond its urban growth boundary, Julie teamed up with Greenbelt Alliance and our local partners to fight the expansion.

In the early ’90s, Dublin chose to greatly expand through sprawl. Dan is committed to making sure the City doesn’t make the same mistake again—this past spring, he was a driving force behind the grassroots campaign for an urban limit line to protect Doolan Canyon.

A resident of Willow Glen in San Jose since 1979, Larry has been advocating for walkable, bikeable neighborhoods long before it was the popular sentiment it is today. San Jose is finally catching up with plans for 70 urban villages peppered throughout the city.

Two years ago, Joel and his wife, Yvette, saw the East Bay as an exciting place where they could start a family. Fast-forward to 2014, Joel, as Greenbelt Alliance’s Regional Representative, helped Oakland adopt an exciting plan for the Broadway Valdez neighborhood.

A+ for Measure AA

Back in May, Lynne volunteered with Greenbelt Alliance to encourage voters to support Measure AA. It was her way of championing the places that make the Bay Area special and preserving the quality of life that we sometimes take for granted.
