November’s Volunteer of the Month, Alex Powell, is a junior at Sonoma State University (SSU) with a joint major in Economics and Environmental Studies. Alex is currently 
interning with Greenbelt Alliance in the Santa Rosa field office, where he has been an important member of the Santa Rosa Measure O Urban Growth Boundary Renewal campaign team.
Alex has played a key role connecting Greenbelt Alliance with local student leaders at SSU and Santa Rosa Junior College, expanding our coalition of environmental advocates. As a result of his work, Greenbelt Alliance was invited to participate in the first CAReFREE Streets 10/10/10 block party in Santa Rosa.
